Hi, We are LAuren and Wrenn!

We are so grateful you are here and interested in joining us on June 20th at the Brandt House for the Flint Hills Feast!

The hosts, Lauren and Wrenn, met years ago at a food event in Denver. They became fast friends over the love of good food, pretty photography, and sharing recipes online. A few years later, the idea was born to host an event highlighting local makers and growers in the Flint Hills.

More About Us

Lauren - The Curious Plate

Lauren resides in Denver, however she is actually a Kansas native. Born and raised in Wichita, she graduated from Kansas State along with my husband. She travels back to Manhattan often to be with family.

On The Curious Plate, she share unique spins on classic comfort food recipes, travel experiences and local recommendations. Her style is all about “feeding your curiosity.” In her cookbook, Modern Comfort Cooking, she share recipes that are fresh, flavorful and adventurous like Korean BBQ Burger with Miso-Candied Bacon, Falafel Waffle, Chicken Parmesan Stuffed Crepes and Mumbai-Inspired Shrimp Tacos with Avocado Salsa.

Arturo & Wrenn - Cooking with the Cowboy

Arturo and Wrenn Pacheco are the husband-and-wife team behind Cooking with the Cowboy! They are ranchers who create beef-centered dishes to nourish their family and yours. The couple has two little cowboys who are rowdy and love to help us in the kitchen.

Arturo and Wrenn grew up on small cow-calf operations in Texas and New Mexico. Kansas State University brought the couple to Kansas for Arturo to complete his PhD. The Flint Hills captured their hearts, and an opportunity arose for them to put down roots. In 2014, they moved to Wabaunsee County and never looked back. Over the last ten years, Arturo and Wrenn have seen their dream of raising cows and kids on their cow-calf operation come true.
